Wonderful location and terrific service. We had a room which had windows all over and it was spectacular to look at the river and the town and the castle. This is a small charming boutique hotel. I would highly recommend it.

They kind of forgot my room service order one night but once they were informed they were on it.

We flew in from Canada and needed a one night stay in Lisbon on our way to a world sporting event in Portimao. I found this hotel on Booked.net and the reviews were very good so I didn't look any further. We did not know the Lisboa Carmo had only opened in July until we arrived. This is smaller boutique hotel in the oldest part of Lisbon - exactly where we wanted to be. We had one day to explore and were able to walk everywhere. This was our first trip to Portugal and we loved Lisbon. The Carmo was wonderful. A small boutique hotel with just what we needed. The room was extremely comfortable, looking out onto a lovely square. The restaurant served a very dinner and had a jazz trio which was a real treat. We were told by shop owners nearby that this old neighbourhood had really received a boost since the Carmo opened. We would definitely stay there again. One caveat; if you want a Hilton with 24 hour room service don't stay here. That said, the Lisboa Carmo was a real find for us. We prefer to experience where we are. And for the ladies there are two absolutely wonderful shops on the same block that have just opened recently. Sapatoria do Carmo - wonderful shoes made in portugal (I bought two pair), and Peles do Carmo - hand made bags and really unique jewelry. I made several purchases for gifts and for myself. These 2 shops outshone anything I saw while out walking and shopping all afternoon. They are owned by a lovely young local couple and the service was unforgettable.

We had to ask for a few convenience items to be brought to the room but other than that we had no complaints whatever.

Very nice beds and fresh rooms. Very nice people in the reception. Central location.

Overdesigned rooms which tended to be inpractical. No room for luggage, bad light, not possible to hang the shower handle, etc. Missed some form of eggs on the breakfastbuffe'.

I loved this hotel. It was right near the Carmo Convent and Square. The staff was very friendly upon our arrival and walked us up to our room. We stayed on the top floor. We had views of the entire city from the castle down to the river. It was gorgeous. The room itself was very comfortable. The bed was soft, the room was spotless, and there was fast and free wifi. There was also a large tv with lots of American channels. The room is set up like a studio with the shower in the same room as the bed. There is a privacy curtain, but it might be awkward if you aren't close with your travel companion. The toilet is in another room. It didn't bother us, but we are a young couple. The breakfast was great. Lots of variety and in the nice restaurant downstairs. Great orange juice. The location itself is on top of the hill that the elevator de justa takes you to. It's a bit of a hike, but you can walk almost anywhere. There are lots of restaurants near by, the train station is very close, and the hotel staff is more than willing to help you book any tours or give advice about the city. They all speak English very well. All in all, the hotel was great. I'd recommend it to anyone going to Lisbon.

They did not provide wash cloths, but everything else was wonderful. Their hotel soap smelled great!

What did I like? Everything! Excellent location, at a nice square, a few steps from the famous lift, that carries you right to the old centre of Lisbon. Big, clean, well arranged rooms with huge bathrooms (ask for a room with shower, the shower cabins are great). The staff is really great - friendly and helpful. Good breakfast (nowhere have I seen such a choice of fresh fruit). Ask for a room with a view on the third floor: they have balconies and you go to sleep watching St. Jorge's castle on the hill opposite. Fully recommended!

Although our room was small the Hotel location was convenient for many of the city attractions and the breakfast was excellent.

Room was too small but comfortable

The location was ideal for getting to know the old town in particular. Staff were charming and helpful without being intrusive. Breakfast was easy to access and provided a selection of choices.

The bar area decor was a bit stark and the lights a bit bright. It could not be described as inviting. We did see several guests look in and decide not to stay. This was a shame as the staff were very efficient and the room has potential.

Friendly and helpful staff, Good Breakfast in the hotel. Clean and neat. Very central and near to everything.

Expirence of bus, underground train, local and other trains, and of course the small old trains in town. Amazing how they could climb up the hills and down again.

Everything! The location is superb, the style of the hotel is very cool and relaxed, and the staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful. The rooms are great, and so is the breakfast. Can't rate it any higher.

    Not a thing.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and made us feel most welcome. The location was perfect for access to the city of Lisbon and reasonably priced for the quality of rooms.

The location was central to what we wished to see in Lisbon. We hated the fact we had to leave the City early because of the general strike, but the Lisboa staff was very accommodating.

    Could not find a clock.

Excellent location. Very helpful reception staff. Great buffet breakfast.

Shower door didn't stay shut do had to shower with foot against door (room 109). Bed head quite dusty between grooves (noticed because husband allergic to dust).

    Superb

Lovely room with a spectacular view over the city and the Carmo cathedral ruin. Location couldn't be better as it was in Chiado near the bairro alto and very close to some nice shops and restaurants. The best part of the city is around the corner. Good bed, clean and modern shower, well decorated room and nice breakfast. Not cheap but very good. A perfect hotel for a city trip.

As we were here in November, the room was cold and there was no heating. We often had to get under the covers to warm up and taking a shower was freezing when entering or exiting the shower cabin.
